How we work
How the burial database is built
A cemetery survey has four stages. None of them means copying data from the internet.
-
Cemetery map
We produce a detailed, accurate map of the cemetery and use it to lay out a clear division into sections, rows and grave numbers. We also record trees, fences, wells, paths, avenues, buildings and car parks.
-
Reading the headstones
Burial records are taken directly from the headstones. At the same time we photograph the graves and monuments and add the images to the system.
-
Cemetery documents
We complete the database with information from burial registers, grave registers, invoices and other documents held by the cemetery administration.
-
Publication in the search
The finished records are maintained by the cemetery administrator in the Interactive Cemetery Administrator system. From there they reach the nationwide Grobonet.com search.
Your cemetery is not here?
We survey cemeteries across the country — map, sections, the list of people buried there and photographic documentation. See what the process looks like and what it requires from the administrator.
